Thanks for your comment.

There is a lot to be said about turmeric and other spices as well. Realistically, we often underestimate the benefits that spices offer and that truly is a shame.

Getting turmeric into cooking regularly can be tough, depending on the food you cook. Turmeric tea is one way around the issue, if you like that taste. Otherwise, you’re right that supplements can make sense in many situations.

How much we have to consume to get its essential effects in order to get rid of the harmful toxins in our bodies. Turmeric Tea has been a popular use in my native country in slowing down the progress of Alzeihmer’s Disease. I agree with you that it has mental health benefits and it has gained popularity in both Asian and European countries.
Thank you, Vince for sharing a very informative article.

My thai massage therapist once told me that tumeric was more effective when mixed with a fat and black pepper, because it increased absorption, so it’s nice to see that information somewhere else.

I’ve always liked the taste of tumeric and curries but, like most non-Indians, I don’t eat enough of it to get the full benefits. When I’m cooking, I usually sneak it into dishes like chili and stews and soups (esp when there are so many other flavors and colors, it won’t dominate). Also, it’s almost never available fresh in Western grocery stores…so it’s starting to make more and more sense to take a supplement. Thank you for the information,
Stephanie
