That’s fantastic. Good on you. I think that there will be some people who find success with any program. Weight loss and health is largely about finding the right fit for you and we’re all so different than one another.

I have Crohn’s disease and tried a lot of dieting programs and nothing helped, til the day I got introduced to Advocare. I went from weighing 220 pound to 140 pounds and I feel great and very healthy. Like I said in my own experience Advocare saved my life physically and emotionally.

Honestly, for some people, programs and techniques do work. Simply eating correctly and exercising is a good goal – but some people find that they need more structure than that. In this case, my biggest argument would be long-term effectiveness. AdvoCare might work fine for many people in the short-term but it’s typically not practical or financially viable to follow it in the long-term. So, what happens when the weight is lost or when they stop? If they just go back to old habits (as so many people do), then the weight comes back.

My wife and a dozen other friends and family are doing this “diet”. I personally dont believe in any of these programs, challenges. Eating correctly and basic exorcising is all i have ever believed in. What should i watch for, or be on the look out for as far as the first side affects and what is the best approach to getting them all off this crap?
Chris

There really is nothing that makes this particular challenge stand out or the products in it. Realistically, if you want shakes for weight loss, great – there are many different options. But, shakes are only ever a tool, they won’t solve the problem on their own.

The reliance on products is a major red flag for me too. If any system relies on specific products, then it isn’t likely to be effective in the long-term, especially as it isn’t teaching healthy weight loss approaches.

Yes – and the field gets overwhelming fast.

There certainly isn’t a simple answer to weight loss, although I don’t think it’s a lost cause either. More than anything, it’s important to find healthy approaches for foods and ones that work for you personally. For example, some people absolutely swear by ketosis as a long-term lifestyle change, while others don’t find it effective (or realistic) at all.

There are indeed many techniques to lose weight, aren’t there?

And to me the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge seems to fit right in with most of them, and the promising miracles that so many people are hoping will help them lose weight.

And so many products hype the cleanse to get you started, which like you, I think “could” cause more problems than being overweight?

I personally think obesity is a lost cause because our culture relies almost entirely on processed foods now. The processed foods set us up to eat irrationally to start with, and that leaves us looking for ways to treat the symptoms of the poison we are eating?

My best weight and health is always from eating healthy foods that my body was designed to eat.

Thanks for this great review of AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge.

There are way too many products that it wants you to use. This is my biggest issue getting into Beachbody because I do not want to promote Shakeology since that is the majority of residual income a coach will receive. I view AdvoCare in the same light that they are peddling products. Quick fixes never work which is why when I suggest supplements they are more focused in natural ingredients that have individual health and performance benefits for the body.

I am sure there is a specific set of products through the company that works well. I might have missed this, is this challenge or products FDA approved?

I’ve tried so many different ‘programs’ and fitness or weight loss challenges. I’ve never been a fan of cleanses and completely agree with your comments about how they have no proven scientific benefits.
I’ve tried shakology and I do love the shakes but they are definitely not unique, and good shakes alone definitely wouldn’t sell me on this challenge! It is very pricey and doesn’t seem to have any outstanding qualities over other challenges.
Your review is detailed; you obviously are very knowledgeable and did a lot of research. Thank you so much for sharing!
