Fish oil is especially relevant for people who can’t get as much fish as they would like to. And yes, that balance between omega-3 and omega-6 is important. That’s actually one of the key reasons that fish (and fish oil) is so relevant to health, even though it isn’t discussed all that often.

Salmon, trout and black cod are my favorite. One of my friends takes fish oil supplements daily. She said it helps lower her cholesterol and clear up her skin. I know fish oil has many health benefits but I’m still skeptical. Do these supplements contain Mercury? thank you

Most of the benefits from fish oil are the same as eating fish, so they’re particularly relevant for people who don’t (or can’t) get enough fish in their diet. Mercury is also a reason for considering the oil over fish, as the supplements won’t contain mercury, while many fish will. But, if you’re eating fish regularly, you probably won’t need fish oil in your diet.

I love fish but don’t find myself eating it as often since I moved further away from the ocean. This is very good Info on the benefits of fish oil and I’m wondering now if I should start supplementing with fish oil since I eat less fish. It’s also good to know the difference between omega 3 and 6. I didn’t know that too much omega 6 could cause problems. Greta article
